Citizen Legislature Project
Despite a tremendous showing of grassroots support and the efforts of thousands of volunteers statewide, we unfortunately were unable to gather the number of signatures necessary to place the Part-Time Legislature initiative on the November 2010 ballot.
Although we received support throughout the state from thousands of individuals and organizations, which worked feverishly to gather signatures, the failure to qualify for the November ballot was primarily due to insufficient funds to pay signature gatherers.
To all of those that helped gather signatures and promote this effort, we extend our sincerest thanks.
The push to improve the political and economic climate in California through government reform, including a part time citizen legislature, does not end here and will remain a priority for Citizens for California Reform (CCR).
In CCR's ongoing public advocacy for reform, we will continue to take an active role in legislative actions, candidates' elections and the citizen initiative process.
